What is different about Cthulhu Awakens compared to other games?

Cthulhu Awakens is innovative and exciting in a number of ways.

  1. Free-to-Play AND Play&Earn - Unlike many 'crypto' projects, we are not "all in" on crypto. We intend to have a traditional (web2) mobile game accessable to the 3 Billion gamers on earth. Cthulhu Awakens will reach a much larger of 'traditional' gamers through standard digital distribution channels (Google Play, iTunes, Steam etc.). The web2 market is MUCH larger than web3 and we will build a worldwide community that encompasses both. We anticipate 'converting' a number of web2 players to web3 through optimized UX and allowing players to 'craft' their first NFTs without paying their own FIAT currency.
  2. AI Generated Agents - Most modern crypto games that have NFT's where the utility is expressed as a playable character in-game have redundant visuals. The cards themselves may be unique from stats, or powers and/or combinations but the visuals are often not 1/1. With Cthulhu Awakens, we have written our own GAN AI system to ensure EVERY AGENT IS UNIQUE. Here is an example image of about 1% of our current Agent Library:

3. World-class game team - The three (3) founders have almost 100 years of video game experience, and the rest of the team has worked on some of the biggest games in the industry (X-wing Tie Fighter, Tomb Raider, League of Legends etc). We are a "game first" studio and will be very focused on creating a fun experience for everyone. Crypto/NFT/digital assets monetization will always be second to great gameplay. 4. Awesome Story - Most match3 RPG games have horrible stories. Working with the Cthulhu property means we have a huge love for the source material. We know its critical the narrative component feels authentic while also being updated for modern audiences. Our characters have rich backstories, crazy plot-twists, romantic entanglements and face serious trauma and obstacles. They are complex and interesting and the mechanics of our story-telling is heavily influenced by the popular 'interactive novel' genre. There are hidden clues inside dialogue trees, there are bonus responses that have both gameplay and story ramifications and there are even 'dead ends' where characters will clam up if you are too aggressive/confrontational. 5. Beloved Source Material - The Cthulhu mythos is loved worldwide. HBO has made a popular television show (Lovecraft Country) and many major motion pictures have been made. Board games and books/comics are extremely popular in many cultures and demographics. Possibly only Edgar Allen Poe is more famous for 20th century horror. By setting our game in this world (starting in the 1920s), we get instant recogniation and existing fanbase. 6. Polygon - This platform was created to address many of the issues with existing L2 solutions. While we are not the only game on the chain, we believe this is a substantial value-add.

7. Mobile First - We are a mobile game company and are building mobile first. We have a PC prototype internally and will be shipping the PC sku after the mobile is released (date TBD).

8. Dynamic Pricing Engine - our core economy has 'built-in' supply/price management. We do this to control inflation and ensure the barrier-to-entry is not too high for new players.
